Akey Bracket Composite - 03/04/2020

Happy Wednesday! Sorry I missed Tuesday; midterms are crazy!

ABC Bracketology - 03/04/2020

About today's wild bracket:
-Booming: Duke, Michigan St., Rutgers, Purdue, Texas

-Busting: NC St., Maryland, Kentucky, Penn St., Iowa, Marquette, Oklahoma, Mississippi St., Alabama (yikes)

-Bubble:
-Last 4 Byes: Purdue, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, USC
-Last 4 In: Providence, Stanford, Arizona St., Richmond
-First 4 Out: Texas, Utah St., Mississippi St., Arkasnas
-Next 4 Out: Rhode Island, NC St., Tennessee, Minnesota (UCLA is 16th out)

-This bracket is the most ridiculous so far:
-Maryland and Michigan are in the same region. They only play once in the regular season, so this is allowed as long as they don't play each other in the conference tournament.
-Kentucky is a 5-seed? What? The ABC punished them very hard for their loss to the Vols.
-Oklahoma is (questionably) still a 9-seed after falling to Texas. They are probably in a much more bubbly situation than the ABC makes it seem.
-The metrics still are not a fan of UCLA. What will it take for them to enter the bubble conversation?

-The ABC is not influenced by my opinions in any way. It is a formula that seeds teams based on a composite of rankings. The goal of this project is twofold: to show and emphasize where metrics would seed teams without any human bias, and to eventually achieve a possible objective bracketology method that may someday be comparable to that of a human bracketologist.
